We were contacted about Sprite being hit by a car in Puerto Vallarta, and not moving. He was taken to our vet where he was diagnosed with a fractured hip. Our vet said to let him rest for 3 weeks then to re-evaluate him. If he wasn’t improving then surgery would need to be done. Thankfully for us and Sprite, he is doing really well and walking around quite normally now! He gets along well with other dogs and absolutely loves to have his belly rubbed.
A woman who said she rescued him as a puppy and gave him up for adoption contacted us. She had the pictures to prove it. Although we aren’t sure why she adopted him out without sterilization, it was him for sure. She contacted the local family she adopted him to and they hung up on her. So, it seems as though they either abandoned him or weren’t caring for him, which is why he was out running and hit by a car. He will make a great companion.
