Phoenix
Male-Mixed Breed
Age: November 2019 | Weight: 20kg
Phoenix was found by a woman in Ixtapa. He had been badly burned on his back and side. His front right paw was also injured. She took Phoenix to a vet and then contacted us. He was transferred to our care. All we know is he was burned but we do not know with what; likely hot water or oil. His burn has healed nicely and quickly. All other protocols have been completed. He was pretty quiet initially and does well around other dogs but can choose to be the alpha if put with another alpha male. Loves to have attention and is opening up more every day. His personality is coming through for sure. He is healed and needs a home where he will get adequate exercise. He has medium energy but would love someone with an active lifestyle who’s willing to take him along for adventures. Likely he’d do really well with as an outdoor buddy!
Phoenix had a biopsy done from a lesion on his back in June 2024. It came back as subcutaneous lymphoma. While there is treatment for lymphoma in dogs, it is considered a terminal cancer and they generally live 6 mths-1 year. He had one more removed shortly after but hasn’t since had any. We feel this guy still deserves the love of a home. And, we really can’t predict how long he will live. He could still live years. His fee will be reduced due to his health status. You wouldn’t know by his attitude or looking at him that he had any issues whatsoever. A really nice dog who loves toys!
