Moose
Male - Mixed Breed
Age: January 2019 | Weight: 16 kg
Rescued from Villa Hidalgo, Nayarit, which is several hours from Bucerias. He was starving on street and someone asked us to help. Moose was treated for distemper when he arrived, he has no neurological symptoms, as it was diagnosed and treated early and is now distemper free. He has an ongoing ear issue which was finally determined to be a lasting effect of his distemper. He saw 4 different vets before the proper diagnosis was made. At times he will shake his head so we know his ears could be bothering him. Because of this, it is recommended he take Prednisone. He only needs for 15-20 days at a time. It is not every day for the rest of his life but only as needed. He may not need for several months but once the ears bother him, he will need another round. He’s at the shelter and free range in his area. He gets along with all dogs at at times is around 40-50. Medium energy level but loves people so much, maybe more than dogs! He really just wants to please and you can tell he’s so ready for his own family. We are happy to send Prednisone to his adopter as it’s much more affordable here. He will qualify as our special needs fee.
