Mazapan is from the streets in Las Varas. Some rescuers were trying to care for him but it was becoming difficult for them to get him in for treatments. When he arrived to us, he had a skin fungus and two separate tumors; one on his rectum and one on his side. Biopsies were done and sent to Guadalajara. He was treated for TVT with Vincristine. The tumors disappeared! In Sept of ‘24, he somehow injured his right eye. We don’t yet know if it needs to be removed. He also still has skin issues but those could be related to heat/humiditiy and living outside.
