Lola

Female - Mixed Breed

Age: July 2021 | Weight: 22 kg

Lola was found on the highway between La Cruz and Punta Mita with erhlichea and mange. She’s healed and doing fantastic! She’s a very loving dog who can be quite calm. Gets along well with other dogs but she can also get a little stressed in the shelter environment. She can be possessive of her toys, which isn’t all that uncommon in a shelter. She mostly does her own thing and isn’t bothered by other dogs at the shelter unless visitors come to give them attention. She likes to have the attention so will assert herself. She would be ok in a home with other dogs because she’s around dogs at the shelter. However, it will also depend on the dog as she will want to be the alpha. We do think she would do really well once out of the shelter environment. It can be tough on dogs especially when they wait so long. We do not recommend she go to a home with small children; ideally teens or no kids. That’s only because of kids making quick movements and being louder, she could get scared. She would do great with an active owner. She’d love to go on adventures for sure!
