Male - Labrador Retriever

Age: TBD | Weight: 27kg

Homer(aka Homero) was reported to us as living on the streets of San Vicente. The large lesions on his back are TVT cancer (transmissable venereal tumors), an all too common STD in street dogs down here. It is easily treatable with chemo when caught early. He has already started his chemo. He is a super nice dog and does great around other dogs. Of course the TVT is contagious but he’s kenneled separately with two other TVT dogs. He’s a really big boy who is great with people too. We would anticipate he will need minimum 8 chemos treatments, likely more, and he will receive one a week. He will be neutered once the treatment has been completed. He may not be ready until May or June. Keep an eye on this guy, he would make a great companion! It’s very rare for TVT to return once a dog has finished treatment but we do recommend cytology follow ups every 6 months for 2 years; a simple swab any vet should be able to do, to check for cancer cells.
