Dottie was one of 23 dogs seized from a home in San Vicente, Nayarit. The dogs were reported to us after a vet went to perform a sterilization clinic at the home. There were around 40 dogs there, in a small space. Most covered in fleas and the puppies very underweight and weak. Dottie was the sickest of all the puppies. She is also the runt and she is very loving. They all had erlichea and were anemic but were under treatment with our vet. She is a very playful, social puppy who loves other dogs and people. She loves to play in our big water tubs and dunk her entire head in.
Dottie is considered special needs because of her skin. For some time, she was very itchy and had lost some hair in areas, even while getting Ivermectin injections from our vet. She came to us as an extremely sick puppy so her system is immunocompromised. Currently she is using a newer supplement, an oil and a powder, which has proven to be extremely effective! She is not on other meds at this time and her itchiness has lessened. It is something a prospective adopter needs to be aware of though.
