Cafesita came to us in early May 2024 from El Porvenir, a small town not far from Puerto Vallarta. Apparently, someone saw her chasing a man on a bicycle. The man pulled out a machete and hit her on the head, causing the wound you see in the pictures. She was taken to our vet where she spent the night and received sutures the following day. She was quite shut down the first couple days with us but really took a turn by day 4. She loves to be pet and is a very happy girl. She has also started to play with toys. We aren’t sure if she had an owner as nobody claimed her and she hasn’t been posted as missing. She came to us having already been spayed though, so was previously owned or someone did have her sterilized. She is now ready for adoption. From what we’ve seen she does well around other dogs.
