Adubi

Male - Mixed Breed

Age: August 2022 | Weight: 25kg

Adubi was reported to us as not being able to walk or use his front legs, likely having been injured. He was found in the Santa Fe neighborhood, east of he shelter. He definitely had been injured but it was 3 months prior to us meeting him. He actually had owners we spoke to. He liked to chase autos and one day was run over, damaging his front legs. When we arrived, the poor dog could hardly move due to his sever injuries. They didn’t take him to a vet so his injuries were not healing properly. They relinquished him to us knowing we could provide him with better care. Originally our vet said nothing could be done and he’d need to stay that way. Sadly, over a weeks time, he had to have one leg amputated. It had zero feeling and was dead.

Since having the amputation, he gets around much easier and is much happier. His other front leg seems to be getting stronger and now he’s able to hop around and no longer puts pressure on his back. He is such a loving guy. He’s around many other dogs all day and does well. He badly craves love and attention from anyone who will give it to him. We know he would thrive in a home with exactly those things. We have not seen him use stairs but he gets himself up on our couch so we know he would learn to adapt and could use them. He is fairly energetic so would love to work his way into an exercise routine. It would also be really nice if he had his own yard to run around, sniff and relax in. He is fully ready for adoption.
