sam
Male-mixed breed
Age: August 2021 | 16kg
Sam was spotted outside of the Mega shopping plaza in Bucerias. He was with another black female at the time. Our volunteer who came across him (and her), could tell he was exhausted and sounded like he was having some trouble breathing. He easily allowed a leash to be put on him. He had dermatitis from fleas, erlichea and TVT. He had a very small lesion on his penis, inside the sheath. The vet did a biopsy to diagnose at TVT. The breathing issue was from a tumor in his snout, also common with TVT. He has quickly settled into the shelter life and is as sweet as can be. He’s very quiet and extremely loving, if not simply thankful for being rescued. He already completed his chemotherapy and is doing well. We do recommend he be vet checked every 6 months for 2 years, to make sure it doesn’t come back. It is very rare but can happen. But for now, he is ready to find his new family. He does really well around the other dogs, really not even paying attention to them. Kind of does his own things but is a big fan of hugs from humans.
Unfortunately, we tried for 2 hrs to catch the female who was with him and she eventually ran off and disappeared (although we look daily). He is doing fantastic and is a sweet dog!!
